HOW MANY INCHES OF ASPHALT DO YOU INSTALL ON A RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY?

 

We install it at 3 inches in a compacts to 2 1/4 inches

 

WHAT KIND OF ASPHALT DO YOU USE ON A RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY?

 

We typically use FABC asphalt (Also known as I-5), but in some cases, especially on a steep hill, we will install MABC asphalt (Also known as I-4) 

 

WHEN SHOULD I SEAL COAT MY DRIVEWAY AFTER IT IS DONE BEING PAVED?

 

We recommend seal coating your driveway after it has endured one winter. After the first seal coating, we recommend doing it every 2 to 3 years.

WHAT TYPE OF SEALER DO YOU USE?

Oil-based sealers are prohibited in NJ. We use a water-based asphalt sealer that is approved by the state of New Jersey.

 

HOW LONG DO YOU LET THE DRIVEWAY SIT FROM THE TIME IT IS EXCAVATED AND PREPPED TILL THE TIME IT IS PAVED? 

 

We typically let our driveway sit for at least 7 to 14 days. It is important to let the subbase sit because we have disturbed the subbase during excavation. 

 

CAN WE OVERLAY OUR DRIVEWAY WITH ASPHALT INSTEAD OF EXCAVATING IT OUT COMPLETELY?

 

We highly advise against overlaying driveways. There are just too many factors that are out of our control when it comes to doing a project like this. To put it clearly, your driveway is only as good as what's underneath it, and if your current driveway is falling apart, your overlaid driveway will not last as long as it should. We warranty our driveways from the ground up.
